I just found your blog. I enjoy reading PF blogs, but lately it seems like they just keep repeating the same c**p.

And I absolutely agree with you about the ads for the CC offers or ING Direct Bank ads (nothing against ING Direct or anything).

Or what's on sale this week (I'm talking stuff we don't need not food or gas or things like that).

These types of posts and/or ads just seem to perpetuate the cycle of debt and overspending by consumers (we all need to spend money to get stuff we need, but too many people can't discern between want and need or spend beyond their means. I am NOT against spending at all. Debt is another matter altogether).

And honestly, if a person can navigate to a PF blog what prevents that person from doing their OWN research on IRAs or banks or credit card offers?

However, I actually do like some lists, but it depends on the type of list. Reason: I may find an item on the list that I find useful that I've never considered before. But at this point in my lifestyle, I have pretty much exhausted the usefulness of most of these lists (how many blogs need to list "use coupons" as a way to save $$ on groceries?

I'll definitely be checking back hear. I'm a non-conformist contrarian, so I always appreciate opposing views (even those I might not agree with).

I started reading PF blogs at the beginning of this year adding high profile PF blogs such as Consumerism Commentary but noticed as I read more and more that it just seems to be a blog for advertising finance-related items and giving generic advice. I wholeheartedly agree with your rant, which is why I removed all the more trafficked blogs in exchange for the smaller but more original content ones. Thank you for being one of them.

Thanks for the links too, I had the first two, I'll check out the last two as well.

I like your take on PF blogs. I started trying blogging myself a few months ago and came to much the same conclusion, that I wanted to focus more on good content than crap to make money. Your site has content that you really don't find on the "others" which I why I keep checking back.
